The region of the sub-continent now known as Pakistan was the hub of Sufi movements which encompassed the whole Central Asia. So this region inherited diverse devotional traditions stemming from that era.
Therefore, Sindh, Multan, Lahore and parts of North-Western Pakistan have historical places which depict the cultural inheritance from that golden period of time for sufi Islam. People come to the shrines and other worshiping places to perform devotional dance on the rhythm of traditional music to enrich their soul and escape from material pressure of the world.
So a visit along these historical spots gives a deeper insight into an aspect of Islam which despite being a predominantly practiced tradition is obscured from the eyes of the rest of the world due to specific events and resulting political situation in the recent decades.
The Gilgit and Chitral valleys are influenced by the great central Asian sufis and poets like Nasir-e-Khisrow and Rumi. So this region is home to devotional traditions different from the rest of Pakistan.
We arrange special festivals, music and practices to give insight into this somewhat obscure culture in Pakistan.
